support sustainable seafood movement at WOFEX 2016

Top Australian kitchen appliance maker BREVILLE® & Disciples de Escoffier a renowned culinary group of which BREVILLE® is its first corporate member in the Philippines shows support to the Sustainable Seafood Movement that will benefit local seafood and fish sustainability for the 3rd day ((Aug5) of the World Food Expo (WOFEX) 2016.

BREVILLE® presents Chef Philip John Golding, founding president of Disciples de Escoffier Philippines, at the WOFEX Kitchen Theater. Chef Philip Golding also the founder and principal of the Golding Culinary Group is also a current Breville brand ambassador. Chef Philip will present at the WOFEX Kitchen Center “The Art of Fish to Fork Dining” from 12 to 1 pm where he will also showcase the prowess of BREVILLE® products such as Multi-Chef™ and Kinetix Control™ and provide the crowd with a seafood feast they have never seen before.



The Sustainable Seafood Movement is an advocacy that seeks to reform sustainability practices in the seafood supply chain, wherein establishments will only buy fish and other seafood from communities where the fisherfolk use the correct fishing gear, catch only non-endangered, adult-sized species, fish in the right places by avoiding marine sanctuaries and protected areas, and follow proper handling and storage standards. BREVILLE® being a socially responsible partner helps in advocating the ideals of the Sustainable Seafood Movement together with Chef Golding.

The Sustainable Seafood Movement influences originated in the US & UK in the 1900s and in Hongkong in 2007. It was launched in the Philippines last year and usually the Sustainable Seafood Week in the Philippines takes place every February of every year.
